ICES Annual Show and Convention

ATTENTION GUESTS WHO HAVE A ROOM RESERVED AT DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT
AND DISNEY'S POLYNESIAN RESORT:

Room reservations have now been entered into the hotel's system and
confirmations will be sent out and received within 2-3 weeks. If you will be
using Disney's Magical Express as your transportation from Orlando
International Airport (MCO), please book online at
www.disneyconventionears.com. This is complimentary transportation to and
from the resort. If you prefer to call, the direct number is 407-827-6777
between the hours of 8:30 am and 7:00 pm EST Monday through Friday, and from
8:30 am until 4:00 pm on weekends. *Please note: due to the large volume of
reservations booked for the convention, we strongly recommend making
reservations online to avoid long hold times.* It is not necessary to have a
hotel confirmation number to book the shuttle pick up.

If you need to MODIFY or CANCEL a reservation, please contact Group
Reservations at 407-824-3869 between the hours of 8:30 am and 7:00 pm EST
Monday through Friday and from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm on weekends. The hotel
will NOT be able to book new reservations; only modify/cancel existing
reservations.

ICES is happy to announce that we are now booking rooms in our third property at Disney! ICES holds a block of rooms at the Polynesian Resort, which is convenient to the convention via the Walt Disney World Monorail and have just added rooms at the Disney Wilderness Lodge, accessible to the Contemporary by a short water taxi ride.

June 14, 2008 is the last day to book hotel rooms for the 2008 Florida ICES Convention and Show and receive the ICES discounted rate. All rooms booked after June 14, 2008 will be subject to availability and will be at the prevailing Walt Disney World Resort rate.

Grace Jones, Pam Hummell, and the rest of the Florida Convention and Show Committee are working hard to bring you a great convention in July 2008. Please take some time and read through all of the documents below. The Walt Disney World links for Disney’s Magical Express luggage system and the link to purchase discounted theme park tickets will be made available February 1, 2008. Keep checking back here for updates.

***If you need to renew your membership or want to become a new member before registering, the last date to do this and still make the Early Bird deadline of May 18 is May 14 by 10:00pm CST. The list is updated weekly.

There is a cost benefit to ICES if you register on-line, but we understand that not everyone has access to the Internet. For those that do not, you can still register for convention via US Mail. . Forms may also be downloaded from the ICES web site. Remember to mail or fax your forms directly to BlueSkyz; the address is on the form. You may also download the Off line Registration Form here.

Once again you will be able to purchase up to 8 tickets for demonstrations but new this year is the ability to pre-order Wild Card tickets. In addition to pre-ordering 8 demo tickets you may now purchase up to 4 Wild Card tickets for a total of 12 possible demonstrations. The demo schedule has been posted on the ICES website. Please take time to review it and make your demo selections. Pay close attention the beginning and ending times of the demos to be sure that the times do not overlap. You will not be able to enter a demonstration late and you are asked to not leave early, as it is disruptive.

After you have completed the convention and demonstration registration you will be able to book your room at one of our host hotels. Do not try to contact hotels directly, you will be referred back to the ICES web site. You may book multiple rooms, however you will need the names of all individuals in each room. There is a place to list up to 4 names per room. The rate for our hotel is $154 plus tax for single/double and $164 plus tax for triple/quad. Parking at the Walt Disney World Contemporary Resort is complimentary.

Disney’s Magical Express is a free luggage and shuttle service available to anyone staying at a Walt Disney Resort. You will receive a hotel confirmation number from Walt Disney World (WDW) that will be required to book the Magical Express. The WDW confirmation is in addition to the BlueSkyz confirmation you will receive from completing the registration process. A link will be provided on the ICES website that will allow you to book the Magical Express. After you sign up for the Magical Express special WDW luggage tags will be sent to the home address of the individual that booked the rooms. That person will be responsible for getting the luggage tags sent to anyone that is staying in their room but not living with them. Please keep in mind that it may take up to 4 hours to receive your luggage once you arrive in Orlando so please do not pack any medications or necessities in your suitcase, be sure to carry them with you on the plane.

Walt Disney World strongly encourages you to begin making your dinner reservations NOW! You may call (407) WDW-DINE or (407-939-3463) to make reservations at any Walt Disney World restaurant. Unfortunately, dining plans are NOT available for convention attendees so make your dining reservations soon.

The Orlando Show Committee is very excited to invite all ICES members to attend the 33rd Annual Convention and Show at Walt Disney World in Orlando July 17 – 20, 2008. We are looking forward to seeing you in Orlando for some “Sugar Fun in the Sun”!

International Attendees If you are planning on traveling to the United States to attend the Convention and Show please read the important letter below regarding deadlines for receiving invitation letters. The deadline to request a letter is April 30, 2008.

Shop Owner's Breakfast - Copyright Laws presented by a prominent Orlando attorney who specializes in Intellectual Property Law

This breakfast is open to all ICES conventioneers. You do not need to submit shop owner documentation to attend this event. Check the box on the registration form for the Shop Owners Breakfast and include the fee. Remember that space is limited, so sign up early! $500 Drawing for Pre-Registering Sugar Art Displays - Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, there will be a $500 drawing at the Orlando Convention and Show. To get your name into the drawing, all you have to do is pre-register your display(s) and bring them to Orlando to share in our cake room. Each person, who pre-registers and brings at least one display, will receive an entry for each piece that meets Century Club guidelines. This drawing is in addition to the Century Club drawing. Pre-registrations must be postmarked or emailed by July 1, 2007. Forms will only be available on the ICES web site. So if you haven't started already, get those mixers going; and let’s fill up the cake room with beautiful displays!

If you register as a non-member, and then decide to join ICES, please contact Gayle McMillan at gvmcmillan@aol.com and a refund will be issued for the difference. Refunds will not be given until 30 days after close of the Convention. If your membership lapses after you register for Convention and before Convention starts on July 17, 2008, you will be required to pay the additional non-member fee.

2008 Convention Refund Policy: Request for refunds postmarked before June 1, 2008 will be 75% of the registered amount. Any request postmarked after June 1, 2008 and before July 1, 2008 will be 50% of the registered amount and must be accompanied by a doctor's statement, or a U.S. Visa denial. No refunds will be given after July 1, 2008. Refund requests may be held up to 30 days after the close of the show.

**Sales Policy Reminder for Convention and Midyear - No selling is permitted in any areas other than those designated and approved by ICES at Midyear or Convention, per Midyear Recap 3/03 in May 2003 ICES Newsletter, page 7, #80, this includes hotel rooms and personal contacts.
