About ICES

In 1976, the International Cake Exploration Societé was founded in Monroe, Michigan,at the National EXPLO Cake Show sponsored by Betty Jo Steinman. The Board of Directors and Executive Officers are elected by the membership at the annual ICES Convention and Show. Local Representatives are elected or appointed each year to help spread the SHARING and CARING of cake decorating around the world. Meetings, get togethers, and "Days of Sharing" are held throughout the year wherever members reside ... ICES Hall of Fame
ICES honors cake decorators who have contributed significantly to this art by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. Individuals can only be nominated by the membership for this honor.  A complete listing of ICES Hall of Fame Inductees is available. Wilbur Brand Memorial Service Award:
 
In August 1988, the ICES Board of Directors established an award to recognize and honor people who have given exceptional service to ICES. Wilbur Brand had worked in many capacities on ICES behalf since its inception and at the time of his death he was a member of the Board of Directors.

ICES Membership Dues -- Join ICES

  • Charter: $20 per year. Joined before September, 1977.
  • Regular/Domestic*: $60 per year.
  • International**: $75 per year.
  • Associate: $25 per year.
    • Resides with or works for Charter or Regular Members and uses the same address.
    • Does not receive a newsletter or the Representative's mailing,
    • Is entitled to all other membership rights and benefits.
  • Three-Year Membership Plan: $156 for Regular/Domestic*; $201 for International**.
  • Gold Membership: $50 per year for Regular/Domestic*; $65 per year for International**.
    • Not a Charter Member
    • Over the age of 60
    • Member in good standing for at least 10 years
    • Served the organization in a local, National, or international level
  • Student Membership: $50 per year.
    • Full time student enrolled in High School, College, or an accredited culinary or vocational school.
    • Must show proof of enrollment
